The OntroPlus Project Management Intermediate course teaches participants how they can use project management methods, processes, and tools to make their projects more efficient and effective. It is a follow-on course to the Project Management: Foundation course that provides an introduction to basic concepts of project management.

Project management is not just for designated project managers. Almost everything you do in the workplace is a project and can benefit from project management techniques. In this course, you will learn the core principles of project management including designing, planning, documenting, controlling and closing projects.

Identify and document project tasks and resources

Order project tasks using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

  • Review the importance of WBS in project planning
  • Create a WBS
  • Create a communication plan

Schedule project tasks effectively

  • How to estimate time and other considerations
  • Using basic planning tools such as a Gantt chart, PERT diagram, and network diagram with practical exercises

Prepare project budget

  • Review project budgeting processes and apply the processes to develop a project budget as an exercise

Modify project budget and schedule to meet objectives and targets

Identify, log and manage project risks

Prepare a project plan

Develop and manage a change control process

Develop and manage a change control process

Basic knowledge of working with a computer is required
